The course covers the following subjects: Human Physiology, Microbiology, Food Science, Human Nutrition, Family Meal Management, Diet Therapy, Food Preservation, Sports Nutrition, Community Nutrition, Human Development, Food Service Management, Textiles, Resource management, Entrepreneur Development and Family Counselling with Chemistry, Biochemistry and Principles of Interior Decoration as ancillary subjects. On the completion of the undergraduate program, they can branch out into various disciplines namely, Foods and Nutrition, Food Service Management and Dietetics, Human Development, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Family Resource Management, Textiles and Fashion Technology, and Psychology. The course is designed for individuals interested in working in healthcare or Food Services in frontline, entry level management, or supervisory positions.

Careers and Placements

On completion of this course, the students can work as Dietitians or Nutritionists in Hospitals, Fitness centers, and Corporate Offices, Sports Nutritionists for different sports teams and Weight loss clinics, Diet Counsellors in Government/Non-Government Organizations, Child Development Project Officers in Government programs, Interior Designers, Fashion Designers, Food and Beverage Managers, Special education and Montessori teachers, Research Scientists, Counsellors and Entrepreneurs, and Hospital administrators.

Eligibility & Duration

  • Ranking based on marks out of 400 in Higher Secondary examination.
  • 80% for students who have studied Chemistry with Biology or Nutrition & Dietetics or Home Science.
  • 20% for students who have taken vocational courses in Home Science.

Course Duration: 3 Years
