Why Study This Course
The M.Sc Chemistry program is designed to help the students widen their knowledge in the core areas of the subject. The course includes theoretical and practical modules which provide an in-depth understanding of Chemistry. The two-year course gives a thorough insight into advanced concepts of Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry. The students get introduced to current areas of research through project work included in their curriculum. This inculcates a research aptitude in them. Students are sent for internships that give them hands-on training in the latest developments in the field.
Careers and Placements
After completing post-graduation, students can pursue research to obtain Doctoral and Post-Doctoral degrees. They get opportunity to work as Project Assistants for research projects at Central and State Universities. They find employment in Universities and Colleges, Chemical factories, Pharmaceutical industries, Textile industries, Petrochemical industries or as Scientific Officers in Government agencies such as ISRO, DRDO, BARC etc.
Eligibility & Duration
- Preference should be given to concerned subject studied
- A candidate must have passed the three year degree course (10+2+3 pattern) recognized by the University
- Should have studied Chemistry and Mathematics (or) Chemistry and Biological Sciences.
