Citizen Consumer Club

“A market without consumers will be a night sky without the stars and moon. Protect their rights and serve them the best for greater reputation and fame.”
The CITIZEN CONSUMER CLUB of Anna Adarsh College for Women was inaugurated on 25 March 2022. The aim of establishing this club is to spread awareness about consumer rights, duties and responsibilities and all the latest developments in the field of consumer segment.
● To enable the students who are the future of our country to understand the fundamental
rights of a consumer and perform all the duties of a good consumer.
● To be alert and aware always and learn to be a sustainable consumer.
● To impart knowledge on latest developments on products and services through the in-house club magazine “THE RISE”.
● To conduct activities on days of Importance to consumers and spread awareness to all the young generation of our college.
● To conduct extension activity to spread awareness and instil the spirit of protection of consumer rights to the neighbourhood society.

Business line club

The Business line club has 500 members. All members subscribe to the Business Line newspaper of the Hindu. The paper is offered at a subsidized rate to the student subscribers. Business Club believes that:

“Coming together is beginning
Keeping together is progress
Working together is success”

Business Club aims, “To update the members with the latest business in formations.”

Entrepreneurial Development Cell (EDC-AIC)

The ED cell was inaugurated by Thiru. Nalli chinnasamy chettiar (A leading entrepreneur) during the academic year 2005 – 06.   The ED Cell aims at creating enterprising, energetic and resourceful individuals. The cell provides platform through “ADARSH ANGADI “, which creates desire, optimism and self-confidence among students and awareness about profitable business opportunities. ED cell is constituted “for the students, by the students, of the students”.

Enviro Club

The Enviro Club was inaugurated on the 16th July 2006 by Mr.M.B.Nirmal, Founder, Exnora. Enviro Club with its aim of “PRESERVE OR PERISH!” orients its members and other students to contribute towards a change, a positive change – A green change!

The Objectives of this club is to involve the students in conserving and protecting the environment through sensitizing them about environmental issues, litter-free, clean and green campus.

Electoral Literacy Club

Electoral Literacy Club sensitise the students on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the
electoral process of registration and voting. It motivates the students to take part in the Indian
democracy and to abide by the Indian Constitution.
Student Club members create impact on the Community by creating awareness about voting and
electoral process.

Fine Arts

The aim of the Fine Arts club is bringing the talents of the budding musicians in the college to limelight, and encourages the theatrical skills of the students. Through their creativity, to motivate them to work across various art forms- physical theatre, folk theatre, mime, pantomimes, etc. To enhance social skills and build confidence, the Visit / View productions in the city will be organized.

The club conducts workshops in speech, drama, and creative writing so that young students can strengthen their imagination and realize their potential

Health and Wellness Club

Health and Wellness Club was started with a mission to inculcate the application of challenges of good nutrition in the young minds of the student community for sustaining overall health. This club aims to empower the students with lifestyle skills to achieve holistic health and wellbeing by creating awareness about the dimensions of health and nutrition.

National Service Scheme

The aim of the NSS is service to the community.  The objective of the National Service Scheme is “development of the personality of students through community service”. This objective is sought to be achieved by enabling the students to work in the community. The program aims to inculcate social welfare in students and to provide service to society without bias.

Red Ribbon Club

Red Ribbon Club educates youth with correct, concise awareness on health to develop healthy life styles and to increase access to safe and adequate quantities of Blood to all the needy by promotion of regular voluntary blood donation.

Road Safety Club

The Management Punjab Association and Principal of the college have taken the initiative of starting the “ROAD SAFETY CLUB” in the college on 25th January 2007. The road safety club has embarked on the mission of reaching people- why it is imperative to follow road safety norms and complying with traffic regulations, along with the do’s and don’ts of road safety norms, thus spreading awareness about the traffic rules. The club emphasized on wearing helmet mandatory to staffs and students of the college.

Rotaract Club

The Rotaract club of Anna Adarsh College for women was successfully started in the year 1991 in the college campus. The purpose of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development to address the physical and social needs of their communities and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service. The motto of the club is “To make a difference in the lives of others”.

MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF ROTARACT CLUB JOY OF GIVING

Every year a club organizes a rice donation project named “Joy of giving” students were asked to donate a handful of rice for the project.

THE RELEASE OF SPECIAL POSTAL ENVELOPE

The department of post-government of India released a special cover to co memorable the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Anna Adarsh College for Women. It is a privilege that only very few educational institutions are given. It is the proud moment for the club to bring out a special postal envelope which is Honour from the department of post Government of India. The Department of post-government of India released a special first-day cover to commemorate the exemplary services rendered by the college.

Students’ Exnora Club

ExNoRa stands for Excellent, Novel and Radical ideas. The Students’ ExNoRa Club of our College was initiated to create awareness among students regarding Ecology and Environment.
Ecological and Environmental sensitization being one of the goals of the College, this club works towards the fulfillment of this goal. It undertakes several socially relevant and useful projects every year towards creating awareness among the College students on various issues relating to environmental sustainability. The students are motivated to reduce the use of plastics, reuse material and to recycle possible things to protect the environment and to ensure good quality of life. club believes in “Join together, Progress with unity, Work towards success.”

YOUTH RED CROSS

“Youth Red Cross” is the most important constituent of its mother organization, Indian Red Cross. It is a group movement organized at the initial stages for students between 18 and 25 years of age within the colleges. This club aims to inculcate awareness on care of their own health and that of others. To understand and accept civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern to fulfil the same. To enable the growth and development of, spirit of service and sense of duty with dedication and devotion in the minds of youth.

The YRC club trains the students to help the communities in disaster, provides training on first aid etc..  and promotes Junior and Youth Red Cross Each and every student is a member of YRC
